Wear Less Makeup With These Skincare Oomphers

Gone are the days of me using face wipes and going sans moisturiser. My skincare routine has now matured. I love the idea of playing scientist in your bathroom; mixing and layering your favourite products. I'll research ingredients and read reviews before adding anything new to my routine. Below are a few skincare items I'll reach for when I want my skin to looks its best (everyday pls).

I love anything that promises to perk up my dull, lacklustre complexion. This gel-texture moisturiser from The Body Shop smoothes over skin beautifully. It absorbs quickly; mattifying the skin whilst giving you a subtle glow. The citrus scent also helps to perk me up during the dark mornings. This is the perfect base for makeup as it really helps to plump up and hydrate your complexion.

A delicious, indulgent evening treat for me is to use this little gem. Temple Spa is a brand I don't think gets enough love in the blogging world. I absolutely love the thick texture of this. I'll slather on a generous layer all over my face and leave on for 15 minutes. It's packed with incredible ingredients such as aubergine, cucumber and liquorice. The soothing formula is great for calming any redness and firming up your complexion. The results are immediate and it doesn't leave a greasy residue.

Serums are a daily part of my skincare routine. You know my love for products that aim to add radiance and this does just that. The Manuka Doctor Radiance Serum instantly illuminates skin without giving you an alien sheen. This includes natural ingredients such as Manuka Honey which does wonders for my skin as well as my breakfast.

Which product do you reach for to enhance your complexion without covering it?

How To Make The Most Of That Extra Hour

The autumnal nip is well and truly in the air.The more the temperature drops the more I find myself layering up my skincare as well as my knitwear. During the colder months I have to invest more TLC into my beauty routine to boost dehydrated skin. When hydration levels are low an extra few minutes spent pampering your skin can make a huge difference. Here are my top moisturisation tips to get you through the winter and help you make the most of that precious hour.

5 mins
Turn your bathroom into a spa-throom by lighting some cute tea lights or a beautifully scented candle. The low light gives the brain a message to relax.
5 mins
Before jumping in the shower take a few minutes to vigorously sweep a body brush up the arms, legs and back towards the heart. This stimulates lymphatic circulation, which helps to eliminate toxins effectively.
10 mins
A facial massage is my favourite way to relax. If you haven't tried it before, you're missing out. A 10 minute massage is all you need to see instant results. Use a facial oil for a hit of hydration.
10 mins
Exfoliating gently removes dead skin cells from the surface, allowing moisturisers to function effectively. Give skin the superior care it deserves with Dove Gentle Exfoliating Body Wash which leaves skin feeling softer and smoother after just one wash. This feels like a heavenly treat compared with my usual body wash choice.
10 mins
Apply moisturiser to skin whilst damp as it helps your skin retain its moisture. Let it soak in for a few
minutes, then towel off the excess.
10 mins
If your feet are dryer than the Sahara invest in a thick, creamy foot cream to keep them baby soft. Slather your feet in a rich moisturiser and follow by putting on a thick pair of socks. The next morning your tootsies will feel noticeably softer.
10 mins
Before bed take some time to look after your hands as the cold weather can play havoc with them. Gently massage in a cuticle oil to keep dry skin away. Pair this with a thick hand moisturiser and your mitts will feel seriously loved.

Which tip is your favourite? Will you be making the most of the extra hour with some TLC? Don't forget clocks go back October 25th!

To blog or not to blog?

If you're a reader of my blog or follow me on social media you may have notice things have been quite recently. It was a conscious decision to take a step back from blogging but I never addressed the matter because I didn't really know what to say.

I've been blogging for nearly five years now and lately I've not been enjoying it as much. You know when you get to that stage of not loving something anymore? Although I'm proud of my blog and the opportunities it has given me, I'm unsure of the what direction to take next. I'm struggling to create different, interesting posts. I don't just want to be another beauty blogger reviewing the same products everyone else is. But, at the same time I don't want to quit. Blogging is my escapism. Somewhere I can express my creativity and admiration for beauty.

I still love reading blogs. It's my favourite thing to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Although you may not be hearing from me as frequently as you have in the past, I'm going to make an effort to make what I publish more suited towards what I'd want to read and not just what everyone else is doing.

If you're feeling the same way about your blog or another passion of yours just know it's ok to feel this way. People change, we grow and we want different things.

Share Your #mybodyphilosophy and Win A Years Supply of Bio-Oil!

We see edited images of bodies everyday; most of which are unattainable and unrealistic. These kind of photos have a negative effect on us and make us feel like we aren't good enough. Young adults are especially influenced by this and has a huge impact on their self confidence. In my teens I often worried and scrutinised my appearance; altering my looks to be more like the cover girls on my favourite magazine and less like me. I would avoid swimming lessons as I was too body conscious and always made excuses to get out of PE. according to a recent survey by Bio-Oil, I wasn't alone. Out of 3000 women a quarter said they had been bullied about their looks making 1 in 5 feel ugly and 1 in 10 self harm. As well as this, 41% of women said they believed they would be happier if they have more body confidence. Looking back now, I know I should have worried less about my body image and focused on more important things. Even today I'm still hung up on my insecurities and I believe if I had more support during those influential school years things would have been different.

Cult beauty brand Bio-Oil have teamed up with body confidence charity, Body Gossip to inspire a life time of body confidence through a road show of performances in schools. Bio-Oil are calling out for your body philosophy to help boost self esteem and body confidence. Your body philosophy may be something you wish you had known when you were younger or some wisdom your mother passed onto you. A few quotes I love are 'real girls are not perfect, perfect girls are not real.' 'Embrace your imperfections, it's what makes you unique!' And also, 'Take care of your body as it is the only place you can live.'

To help inspire others and be in a chance of winning a years supply of Bio-Oil simply share your body philosophy below. Body philosophies shared will become valuable content for the campaign and used to inspire a generation of young people to love their bodies.
Good luck!

The Body Shop Italian Summer Fig

Fig fanatics listen up. The new Body Shop Italian Summer Fig collection is truly delightful. I want to bathe in the scent all day. The whole range has that 'green', natural scent whilst still keeping a feminine element. The Italian Fig fragrance is more on the earthy side rather than girly. It feels quite grown up and more sophisticated than anything else I own. I adore the elegant packaging and chic black & white design.

Italian Summer Fig EDT 50ml £18.00
If you're after an affordable fig fragrance look no further. This is my favourite product from the range and I can't express my love enough. The top notes compromise of grape leaves and crocus (I'm not too sure either). The heart notes are juicy Italian Fig and warm Tuscan Rose adding a sweet undertone to the fragrance. The beautiful scent ends with notes of Oakwood and Amber turning it into a fresh, light fragrance that lingers on skin. This is my new fig favourite - perfect for the warmer months as it's not overpowering.
Italian Summer Fig Shower Gel £6.50
Described as a green, juicy fragrance this shower gel smells beyond delicious. It's exactly what I want on cool summer mornings and balmy evenings. The refreshing scent cleanses my skin beautifully leaving me feeling comforted and invigorated.
Italian Summer Fig Body Butter £13
This creamy formula is like silk for your skin. As with the other products from the range the scent is refreshing and not sickly sweet. It soaks into my limbs quickly and works best layered with the products above.

Are you a fig fan too? Check out the other products from the range here. I think I need to add the fragrance mist to my collection..

The 72 Hour Pamper

I love bank holidays. Extra long weekends were made for pampering. Why not stretch out your pamper session to last three days? I have collated a luxurious edit of at-home, spa-worthy products to aid your relaxation and rejuvenation. Time to turn your bathroom into a spathroom (see what I did there?).

Saturday
- Begin by detoxing skin with a double cleanse. I like to use a makeup removing cleanser first following by something with skin-loving ingredients. My current combo is the No7 Gel Cleanser and the SK:N Exfoliating Cleanser.
- Follow this up with an indulgent face mask suited to your main skin concern. With a house move and starting a new job, this month has been a bit stressful and my skin has suffered. I'm reaching for the Temple Spa BeCalm* Soothing mask. This beautiful mask has a thick, creamy formula which helps to smooth, firm and calm sensitive skin. It's seriously hydrating and gives skin a dewy glow. Ingredients such as cucumber, liquorice and basil add to its repairing properties.
- Finish you DIY facial with a refreshing spritze of toner. A few firm favourites of mine are Serozinc, Avene and Jurlique.
- Allow your nails to breathe by going polish-free. Apply a nourishing cuticle oil such as the Nail Apothecary Cuticle Elixir*. This cute little bottle contains Vitamin E and Jojoba Oil which helps to moisterize and soothe damaged cuticles.

Sunday
-Start of the day with a de-fuzz. I prefer pain-free methods such as hair removal cream. I opt for products suitable for sensitive skin like the Veet Natural Inspirations Hair Removal Cream*. This is suitable for legs and body and is specially formulated with Grape Seed Oil which is known for its softening properties. You simply smooth is on, wait 10 minutes and remove with the spatula provide. Such a quick and easy way to remove unwanted hair!
- Give hair a break from heat styling and treat your locks to a hair mask. I'm a huge fan of the L'oreal masks which come in an array of variants. You can leave this on for as long as you want, sometimes I'll keep in on overnight and rinse it out in the morning.
- Long term readers of MMU will know such how much I love a good body scrub. I personally don't think you can beat Soap & Glory. The scent, formula, price - the holy grail of body scrubs.
- It's always best to follow a body scrub with a hydrating body lotion. Lightweight formulas soak in quicker and don't leave skin feeling tacky. Right now I'm using the &OtherStories Body Souffle.

Monday
- Fool your family/friends into thinking you've had a weekend away with a little self tanning. Because of the body prepping you did yesterday your tan will look natural and streak free. My favourite fake tan has to be Cocoa Brown, I've expressed my love enough for it on here so won't go on.
- Don't forget to give your mouth a little TLC. At home teeth whitening kits are a great way to brighten your smile without a trip to the dentist. Results aren't going to be dramatic and will fade without continual use. The iWhite2 Instant Teeth Whitening Kit* promises results after just one use.I like how easy the disposable trays are to use. After one 20 minute session I can notice my teeth are slightly whiter, just don't expect drastic results.
- Before heading back to work, enjoy an indulgent shower with a luxurious shower gel. When it comes to indulgent bathing Roger & Gallet never let me down. Their newest Bienfaits Shower Gel* is a concentrated blend of juicy blood orange, mandarin, bergamot and lemon creating the ultimate citrus experience. The thick gel works into a light foam that moisturises and soothes skin whilst stimulates the senses.
- After letting your nails breathe for a couple of days it's time to continue the pampering using a nail buffer. I adore the neon nail accessories from Tweezerman which are never going to get lost in your handbag. The Smooth, Shine & Buff Block is ideal for home manicures. Each side is gentle on nails and provides long lasting results.
- Finish off your bank holiday pamper with a swipe of the Nail Apothecary 24k Gold Ridge Filler Treatment* on each nail. The Omega 3, Keratin Amino Acid and Lingonberry Seed Oil formula has gold flecks suspended in the treatment. This helps to protect nails from splitting and promotes healthy growth.

Let me know if you'll be taking part in a bank holiday pamper!

Strobing With Drugstore Products

Strobing is the next big makeup trend. Heavy contouring has had its day and its time to welcome a new look. As the name suggests, strobing is about accentuating the high points of your face using the power of light. It's basically intense highlighting and I love it. The result is a very fresh, lit-from-within glow. It's like anti-contouring as it involves using lightening and highlighting products. The idea behind the trend is pretty simple, highlight any areas where light natural hits: tops of cheekbones, tip of nose, cupids bow and above brows.
Here is my guide to strobing like a pro using drugstore products.

1. Starting off with skincare apply a facial oil all over. I really like the Botanics Organic Facial Oil as it isn't overly greasy. An oil will help give your skin a nice glow and show you where light hits you best.

2. Strobing is all about layering highlighter to create a intense glow. Start off by patting on a liquid illuminator to the areas you want to emphasize. I recommend using the Seventeen Skin Wow Primer (not pictured as I've misplaced it!).

3. Once that is blended in tap a cream highlighter to those same areas. I use the Essence Cream highlighter as it blends in seamlessly and is really affordable.

4. You could stop here but I like to finish of the look with a light dusting of a brightening powder. This helps to keep the glow in place all day. I took the lighter shade from the COLLECTION Contour Kit for this.

Although Strobing is a lot simpler than a lot of the other makeup trends out there it does take practice. This look is all about layering and it's easy to go overboard. It's easy to go from looking glowy to looking sweaty. If you have oily skin I recommend using powders and avoid anything overly glittery.

Happy Strobing!

Post Holiday Prep

post holiday beauty tips
You're home and the holiday blues have well and truly settled in. The only reminders of your holiday are that scar on your left shin (tried wild swimming pic.2) and the 473856 photos on your camera roll. To extend that holiday feeling I've pulled out the beauty products which claim to prolong that summer glow, restore your frazzled hair and soothe those sunburnt shoulders.

Hair Mask
First things first, my hair needs some TLC. An after sun shampoo is a good start, Aveda and Wella do great ones. Follow this with a deep conditioning hair mask to restore hair. I'm currently liking the L'oreal conditioning balms. They come in huge tubs, smell divine and are extremely affordable.
After Sun
Despite franticly applying SPF throughout the holiday I usually get caught out. Often it's when I'm on the beach and take a little nap (3. why did no one wake me?!). I love the soothing sensation of an after sun and have found a new favourite from The Body Shop. It's a little more exciting than your standard aloe vera gel; TBS Body Sorbet in Mojito is a cooling, lightweight gel which absorbs instantly. The lime and mint scent transports me back to relaxing by the pool, slowly sipping Mojito's (pic.4).
Glow Getters
To help prolong your holiday glow make sure to moisturise your skin and apply a gradual tan to stop the colour from fading. It's also important to stay hydrated and to not take really hot showers. My two favourite fake tan brands are Cocoa Brown and Xen-Tan, I know I can count on these two to give me a natural looking glow.
Hydrate Skin
After a week of sun my skin is looking a little parched. To increase moisturise I'm reaching for my trustworthy Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum - a must-have product for dry skin gals. A little bit goes a long way with this, the lightweight formula sinks in quickly and rehydrates the skin beautifully.

Can I go back on holiday please?

Summer Beauty Product Switch Up

summer beauty product tips
I feel like we have been cheated of a summer this year. It's now August and the sun has yet to make a proper appearance. Despite the lack of vitamin D I'm determined to make summer official with a seasonal skincare switch up. Do you adjust your beauty routine to fit in with the season? As soon as May arrives I hide away my scarf's, woolly knits, heavy foundations and dark lipsticks. May the following beauty bits inspire you to give your routine the sunshine treatment.

Out: Powder blushers
In: Cream blushers
I wave goodbye to powders during the summer and opt for something lighter and creamier. I'm obsessed with creams in a stick form such as the COLLECTION Speedy Blush Sticks. A quick swipe of these on my cheeks followed by blending in with my finger tips is the easiest way to get a dewy flush of colour.
Out: Heavy EDP
In: Body mists
My beloved Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb feels too heavy for a BBQ on the beach with the possibility of skinny dipping and falling asleep on the sand. The Ted Baker Pink Body Mist is a soft floral fragrance which smells divine on a warm body.
Out: Body Creams
In: Body Sorbets/Souffl├ęs
Although heavy moisturisers work like a dream on my winter-parched skin they are just too rich for the warmer months. I want an easy, quick formula that dries in an instant such as the Body Shop Body Sorbets. I like to change up the scent too and go for a lighter, refreshing fragrance. The limited edition Mojito range from The Body Shop was made for balmy summer evenings. The lime and mint combination helps soothe sticky, sweaty skin and smells good enough to eat (or drink).
Out: Lipstick
In: Lip crayons
I prefer brighter lips and tips in the summer. My go to combo has been pastel yellow nails and a glossy, coral lip. I like to rotate my lip products; majority of my lipsticks go to the back of the stash and come forward the tinted lip balms and crayons. Anything which offers hydration goes in my good books.
In: SPF
A summer switch up post wouldn't be complete without the mention of SPF. The La Roche Posay Anthelios XL Fluid is my go-to and is sun protection at its best. The formula is light enough to use on a daily basis and sits well under makeup. Unlike other sunscreens, this one won't clog pores or cause breakouts as it's non-comedogenic and fragrance-free. As well as having high spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays, it contains a high dose of of La Roche Posay's thermal spring water to soothe stressed skin - the Holy Grail of sun protection.
Out: Toners
In: Facial Mists
All year round I enjoy the soothing sensation of facial sprays but even more so during the summer season. I'll keep a mini Avene Thermal Water Spray in my bag, one in my fridge and one in my bathroom. These are life savers when the humidity increases - I spritz them with wanton abandon and glee.

Now we've got out summer beauty routine sorted we just need some sunshine. Come on UK, what you playing at?

TANGLE TEEZER Blow-Styling Brush Review

tangle teezer blow styling review
My TANGLE TEEZER and I have been together for three years now. We've had our differences and fall outs but there will always be a space in my haircare routine for the TANGLE TEEZER. The newest hairbrush from the brand is worlds apart from the original - it has a handle!

The TANGLE TEEZER Blow-Styling Brush is specially designed to make the process of blow drying your hair so much quicker and easier. It claims to offer the results of a salon blow dry in the comfort of your own home. The brush has a half paddle design and is made for those with short to medium length hair. The secret to its success is the teeth; they are quick-drying as the rapidly extract water from the hair shaft. It also has unique cleaning grooves which makes for easy hair removal and cleaning without damaging the teeth. Despite doing a great job at brushing through my thick hair I found the teeth could feel quite hard as the brush isn't very flexible. I'll often avoid blow drying my hair as it's so time consuming and leaves my hair looking fluffy. I decided to give blow drying another chance with the help of this and I could definitely notice a difference. My hair looked and felt so much smoother, there wasn't any awkward frizziness and flyaways were kept to a minimum. The only downisde to this product for me was that at times it felt uncomfortable to use because it has no cushioning. It is a little on the pricey side but it's a lot cheaper than going to the salon and I can tell by the quality this brush is going to last.

Current Skincare Routine: PM

You may have recently seen me ramble on about my morning skincare routine (catch up here if you missed it) and now it's time to share with you my PM skincare stash. Prepare for some serious gushing about facial oils.

I tend to use just one cleanser in the evening as I don't wear a lot of makeup during the day. If I'm wearing more, I'll quickly sweep on a gentle micellar water on my lids to help remove eye makeup; I like the Euercin DermatoCLEAN Micellar Cleansing Fluid as it doesn't sting my eyes like some do. As my actual cleanser, I'm currently using the SK:N Facial Exfoliating Cleanser*. This is a chemical exfoliator so doesn't contain any grainy bits. It uses Glycolic Acid and Glyerine to gently exfoliate the skin leaving it feeling softer and smoother - my skin has never felt so soft! I've noticed after using this products seem to layer up easier afterwards. I'll follow this with the same spray and eye cream routine as the AM but swap my moisturiser for something with more oomph. Firstly I'll tackle any blemishes with a treatment cream. I'm using the SK:N Blemish Control Lotion* on my T zone which reduces redness and inflammation by slowing oil production and reducing acne bacteria. The Salicylic acid-peptide combination of this has been clinically proven to decrease blemishes. The formula is very runny so a little bit goes a long way. In the evening I love to use a facial oil. I'll spend a good 10-20 minutes gently massaging it in whilst catching up on Youtube. The one oil I'll always return to is the Trilogy Rosehip Oil - now my third bottle of the stuff. I really enjoy using this before bed; the scent is calming, the texture isn't overly greasy and my skin just drinks the stuff up and thanks me for it in the morning. If I was suffering from dry skin I'd layer in a serum before using an oil, I highly recommend the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum for those with dry skin types.

After writing this I'm oddly excited to take my makeup off this evening and indulge in my PM skincare routine. My line up is currently missing a decent face mask so if you have any recommendation leave them below!

COLLECTION Matt Lip Butters Review

COLLECTION Matt Lip Butter Review

Are you ready for the 236th mention of COLLECTION on MMU? You can tell I'm smitten with the brand. There is a new product launch this month and it's worth shouting about. Matte lip lovers - listen up.

Available in three must-have shades, Marshmallow Pink, Pumpkin Pie and Crimson Velvet. All of which are very wearable and effortless to apply. My personal favourite is the latter, a bright tomato red which is a nice accompaniment to my blue peepers if I do say so myself. For those who fancy something a little less in your face Marshmallow Pink is a natural, girly hue that suits all skintones. After a shade to offset your golden glow? Go for Pumpkin Pie, a beautiful bright, coral. I love all three shades and at just £2.99 a pop COLLECTION have your summer lip looks covered.

As with wearing any matte lip product, prep is key. Make sure to gently exfoliate your lips beforehand and apply a hydrating lip balm. Having a good base will allow the lip butters to glide on with ease and help avoid prune pout syndrome.

COLLECTION  Matt Lip Butter Pencils* £2.99 available in Superdrug and Boots now.

Current Skincare routine: AM

I was originally going to roll my morning and evening skincare routine into one post, however I obviously have too much to say on the matter so I've decided to split it up into two posts to avoid boring you.

Before starting I should begin by giving you some background information on my skin. My skin type is quite normal but I tend to get oily around my T-zone. I'm prone to blemishes especially around my chin which leaves those pesky scars behind. My skin goes through phases of being sensitive so I try to balance out using harsh products with something more gentle.

After waking up I'll splash my face with cold water before applying a cleanser. At the minute I'm using the Soap and Glory Vitamin C Facial Wash which is the perfect AM cleanser as it has an invigorating scent.  The product contains polishing microbeads that are super gentle and help give skin that morning glow. I have the old packaging as it now comes in a big bottle. Then I'll spray on a toner because I'm obsessed with them (and taking up 40% of my fridge space). I've been using Serozinc for a couple of months now and although it's hard to tell if it is doing my skin much good I do enjoy the refreshing sensation. As someone who was born looking tired I need all the help I can get when it comes to the eye department. I'm not loyal to any particular eye cream but I'm using and liking The Body Shop Drops of Youth Eye Concentrate right now. The roller ball applicator really helps to refresh the eye contour and reduces the appearance of my puffy eyes. Next up I'll apply a treatment product and currently reaching for La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+. I'll use the tiniest amount of this on any blemishes I have. I find this helps to stop spots from getting any worse and reduces redness. I'll choose my moisturiser depending on how my skin is behaving that day. Because my skin has been quite sensitive lately I've been using the Trilogy Very Gentle Moisturising Cream*. The fragrance-free and essential oil-free formula makes this soothing cream super gentle and great for when my skin is feeling delicate. The deeply hydrating cream contains natural spring water and chamomile which both help to comfort irritated skin. This also contains breakthrough botanical complex SyriCalm which reduces redness and inflammation, whilst protecting the skin's natural barrier function. I'll top this all off with an SPF; in the summer I reach for the big guns and wear La Roche Posay's Anthelios XL Fluid SPF 50. If you hate wearing suncream you'll love this.

COLLECTION Contour Kit Review

collection contour kit review
COLLECTION have really upped their game lately. With every new launch I fall deeper and deeper in love with the brand. You guys are in for a real treat later this year as there is going to be whole host of must-have new products. Say hello to cheekbones because launching later on this month is this lust-worthy contour kit.

First things first, don't you think it looks very Nars-esque? I love a good dupe and this little beauty gets a thumbs up from me. This sleek compact ticks all the right boxes. The bronzing shade is matt and perfect for enhancing the natural structure of the face as it isn't orange-y or muddy. The lighter shade is designed to be used as a highlighter. It offers a subtle shimmer without the shine, I put it under my brows, down the centre of my nose and to clean up any harsh contour lines. Both powders have excellent pigmentation and are finely milled making them feel much more premium.

If you love the contoured look and want to channel Kim K on a budget - this is for you.

COLLECTION Contour Kit* £4.19 available from Superdrug from August 26th and Boots from 2nd September.

COLLECTION Eyebrow Kits

collection eyebrow kits
I never thought eyebrows would be so important to me. When I meet new people I always noticed their eyebrows first. The brow obsession doesn't appear to be fading any time soon with statement brows dominating A/W15 catwalks. The newest additions to my brow stash are the COLLECTION Eyebrow kits. Available in two shades, these handy palettes house a trio of natural-looking brow powders, a slanted brush and clear brow gel.

I've been reaching for the 'Brunette' palette daily as the lightest shade matches my eyebrows perfectly. The powders have a chalky texture and blend in seamlessly. I like to use the lightest shade on the inner corner of my brows and place the darker shade towards the end for definition. The 'Blonde' version would be ideal for those with fair hair as the lightest shade is extremely subtle. The compact kits also have a built-in mirror making them great for brow touch ups on-the-go!

COLLECTION Eyebrow Kit* £2.99 available from Boots and Superdrug.

My First & Other Stories Beauty Haul

and other stories bath
Whenever I'm in London I always make an effort to visit & other stories. I adore their cool clothing which looks so different from anything else on the highstreet. The beauty department is also something special with its simplistic packaging and affordable prices. I've been indulging in a couple of bath and body products from the brand and let me tell you the experience was just as dreamy as the delightful packaging.

With prices starting from £4 there really is no reason not to try the & Other Stories beauty range. I've been testing out the body scrub and souffle from the Floral Memento collection. The scent is romantically described as "Dusty violets settling among bergamot trees and peony dreams...". Both products have delicate floral notes alongside a light musky scent. The range contains natural oils and waxes providing excellent moisturisation and leaving a gentle, cushiony feel. I love how the simple packaging looks so elegant in my bathroom.

The body souffle has a soft pink tint and a gentle floral fragrance; delicate notes of violets and peonies inspire day dreaming. Despite having a rich formula, the whipped body cream absorbs into skin quickly and leaves it feeling soft and supple. The pretty floral scent lingers on skin throughout the day. The body scrub is equally as exquisite. I prefer to use this on dry skin concentrating on areas such as elbows and feet. Once the product comes into contact with water it turns into a creamy lotion, soothing the skin and leaving behind a delicate fragrant veil.

& Other Stories Body Scrub £7 and Body Souffle £10

It's Sunday. It's been a long week and I just want to chill and indulge in a little summer pamper. With no plans for today I intend on doing just that. When it comes to the warmer months I like to switch up my pamper routine and opt for refreshing, invigorating products. I hit the jack pot when I came across this delight from Treacle Moon.

One Ginger Morning is a generously sized bath and shower gel perfect for balmy evenings. Don't be put off by its kermit green hue - this smells beyond delicious. It's a great waker-upper if you're feeling groggy or a bit hot and sweaty. It has a very sweet, citrus fragrance with a hint of ginger. The texture is very gloopy but creates a gorgeous lather. This is the perfect affordable treat whether you're a bath or shower kinda gal.

Dove #100colours Challenge - Festival

dove 100 colours challenge
The third instalment in my Dove #100colours challenge has a festival theme. If you missed the previous posts (catch up here!) the #100colours challenge is a campaign designed to help women embrace a brighter wardrobe. A recent poll commissioned by Dove revealed that two thirds of British women would choose a LBD for an event because of its reputation as a timeless classic. Body confidence is also cited as a key factor steering women away from wearing colourful clothes. I've teamed up with Dove to ditch the dark shades with a little help from their Invisible Dry Deodorant which is proven to leave no white marks on 100 colours!

Last week I hopped on the train to London to attend Lovebox festival with some fellow bloggers. I embraced the event in true festival spirit by dancing the afternoon away in a psychedelic print dress. I wouldn't usually have the confidence to wear such a statement piece but using Invisible Dry Deodorant has boosted my self-esteem and made me feel happier about swapping 'safe' shades for something bolder. The floor skimming, figure-hugging maxi didn't look out of place at Lovebox. The festival was awash with a rainbow of bright hues and the Bohemian theme added to the chilled out atmosphere.

If you're feeling inspired by the Dove #100colours campaign and want to embrace some more colour into your wardrobe, why not start off with an accessory? Fashion stylist Alex Longmore who is collaborating with Dove recommends either investing in a bright scarf or handbag. "This is a great way to inject colour in your wardrobe, plus it's fun for summer and colour always get compliments. A little colour goes a long way so it will instantly brighten your outfit and you will feel the colourful benefits without a complete wardrobe overhaul."

Lovebox with COLLECTION

Last week I travelled up to London to attend Lovebox with COLLECTION. I got to spend the day dancing away with a bunch lovely bloggers and saw a sneak preview of some snazzy new makeup launches.

The day started with a scrummy breakfast at the ever so trendy London Grind. When in the company of fellow beauty bloggers chat inevitably turned towards makeup as we delved into our handbags to share our beauty faves. After enjoying a catch up we got to see a few new product launches from COLLECTION (you guys are in for a real treat!). We were then whisked away to Lovebox to indulge in an afternoon of cider and COLLECTION make up. Kopparberg in hand, we weaved through the crowd to dance to some reggae music. All of the bloggers I met were really lovely and super friendly. It's so odd to meet someone for the first time even though you've been following them for years and know so much about them! The night wrapped up with Rudimental which was the perfect end to a perfect day. I feel very grateful that I get to go to these kind of events and get to mingle with so many inspiring ladies - thank you COLLECTION!

Dove #100colours Challenge - Graduation

dove 100 colours
dove 100 colours challenge

To celebrate their #100colours campaign Dove has challenged me to embrace a brighter wardrobe this summer with the help of Dove Invisible Dry. The deodorant has been proven to leave no white marks on an impressive 100 colours. I'll be putting the deodorant to the test and exploring the possibilities that come with ditching dark shades.

Last week I attended my boyfriends' graduation ceremony and opted to wear this colourful coral dress from New Look. The scattering of stripes were a refreshing change from all the black dresses that surrounded me and added some fluorescently charged femininity to the occasion. I adore the shape and style of this dress; the fit and colour were extremely flattering and made me feel super summery. It's incredible how a splash of colour can alter your outlook and boost your confidence.

Embracing colour has given me so much more confidence to be braver with my style and with a spray of Dove Invisible Dry those pesky white marks won't be an issue. I've often lusted after brightly coloured clothing but haven't felt confident enough to wear them myself. I'll no longer be admiring bold pieces from a distance, instead I'll be taking on colour and making a style statement. I found wearing colour really lifted my mood and made me maintain a positive outlook. Don't get me wrong, I love a LBD but isn't it time to try something a little different?

Fading Blemish Scars

Those pesky blemish scars that are left behind are almost worst then the spots themselves. I suffer from blemish scars quite badly, especially around the chin area. They will stick around for months after the spot has gone so I'm constantly having to conceal them. I have spent the last few months testing my way through products aimed at banishing scars and tackling post-breakout issues. Here are a few products I've been trying and my thoughts on the results.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+
Every blogger and their mum has reviewed this but I wanted to share my experience of it. I like to apply this not all over, but just to the areas that need it. The lightweight gel texture absorbs really quickly and a little bit goes a long way. Used religiously this stuff works wonders. I've been concentrating this on my scars and after a months use I have noticed the redness on my chin has reduced greatly, although not completely gone it is a lot fainter. This also helps prevent future blemishes from scaring.
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum*
I usually get on well with Vichy skincare and the latest product on trial didn't disappoint. This super hydrating serum is like an injection of moisture for skin. It's really lightweight and fluid - my skin instantly drinks it up and looks all the better for it. Another great way to combat scarring is to ensure skin is hydrated and I'm yet to find a product that does a better job than this.
La Roche Posay Anthelios XL*
One thing I've found to improve my blemish scars greatly is to wear a high SPF. If you suffer from blemish prone skin not doubt you'll know that SPF can cause spots, especially if not removed properly. However this one from LRP is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and fragrance-free so perfect for sensitive or blemish-prone skin. This allows your scars to heal without incurring further damage.
Remescar Stick*
This is a solid silicone stick which you apply 2-3 times a day reduce the appearance of old and new scars. The stick is very small but you hardly have to use any. It is white in colour but looks very discreet and can be worn under makeup. I've been using this for two months now and have noticed it helps heal my scars, although they haven't gone completely I'll continue to use this in the hope it will fade them further.
Trilogy Rosehip Oil
I'm a huge fan of facial oils and this one from Trilogy has to be in my top 3 favourites. Rosehip Oil is a natural scar-healer and often used in hospitals. I'll apply this all over in the evening to calm and soothe my skin. In the morning my complexion has a subtle glow and looks plumped up.

I'd love to know what products you use to fade blemish scars, and if you have any questions - ask away!

New Klorane Dry Shampoo in Natural tint

Another new dry shampoo launch that has caught my eye this month. This time it's the cult classic French beauty brand Klorane with a new twist on their best seller.

Keeping the same oat formula as the original, the latest offering has a natural tint designed for those with darker hair. The beige mineral pigment is the perfect shade for my light brunette locks. Once rubbed into roots it leaves hair looking naturally fresh without any of that grey residue often associated with dry shampoo. Not only does my hair look fresher it actually feels cleaner too. The lightweight powder absorbs oil almost instantly and helps add volume. I think I prefer this to the original version - good work Klorane!

Dove #100colours Challenge - Holiday

As the weather warms up in the UK I embrace a brighter, bolder wardrobe. The dark, winter shades are put aside and out come a riot of rainbow hues all with delicious anticipation of what summer will bring. There's something about slipping on a colourful dress which just lifts your mood and makes you stand a little taller. Dove are encouraging women this summer to ditch the LBD and swap it for a LCD (little colourful dress). The #100colours challenge comes after the Dove Colour Confidence poll revealed that two thirds of British women would choose a LBD for an event because of its timeless reputation as a timeless classic. Body confidence is also cited as a key factor steering women away from wearing colourful clothes. I think it's time for a refresh of our attitudes, and our wardrobes.

Commenting on the research findings, Pantone Color Institute Director, Leatrice Eiseman says: "choosing colour can make women feel more energised and so wearing red on a Monday gives us great a great start to the week. As an alternative to black, women could incorporate the colour purple as it has a dominant blue undertone and can release tension-fighting endorphins to combat stress. If you're feeling particularly bold - why not break the mould with a vibrant yellow? It stimulates the brain, heightening awareness and making us feel more focused and decisive."

Fashion stylist Alex Longmore continues: "For so long we've seen women choose the LBD because it is seen as the safe option.. it's time we change that! Colour is a chic asset to any wardrobe, especially as we come into summer. Wearing the right tone and shape is very important when wearing colour. I think it is best to always opt for block colours, especially when choosing a little colourful dress. Ladies lets ditch the dull and bring brights to your wardrobe!"

Her top tip for embracing colour this summer is to introduce it to your wardrobe gradually by investing in an accessory such as a bright handbag, pair of shoes or scarf. "This is a great way to inject colour in your wardrobe, plus it's fun for summer and colour always get compliments. A little colour goes a long way so it will instantly brighten your outfit and you will feel the colourful benefits without a complete wardrobe overhaul."

To celebrate the campaign Dove has challenged me to pick out an array of colourful dresses to get me through the summer months and explore the possibilities that come with embracing colour. My first attempt of defying conventional style and ditching the LBD was during a balmy summer evening on holiday with my boyfriend. I opted for this bright blue maxi dress with an exotic red and yellow floral print. Unlike dark colours, this bold statement dress kept me effortlessly cool in the smouldering heat. It is the perfect piece for taking away on holiday; whether you are floating through morning markets or strolling on sunset shores. I would usually opt for a black dress in the evening but it felt refreshing (and a little scary at first) to go for something bolder. Embracing colour with the help of Dove Invisible Dry made me feel flirty and feminine. The deodorant has given me the confidence to be much more braver with my style choices and as it leaves no white marks at all; the colour possibilities are endless. Dove Invisible Dry has ensured I'll have the most radiant summer ever. Now I have returned from my holiday I'll be sure to keep up this trend as a splash of colour is really uplifting and helps motivate you for the day.

Will you be embracing a little colour this summer?

Pre Holiday Prep

Although I'm not going on holiday for a few weeks I like to get my prep in early. I sort out through all my mini beauty samples, stock up on suncream and shake up my routine so I feel a bit more holiday ready. I also get all geeky and plan a full itinerary for the trip, just me?

I love a good body scrub all year round but even more so just before going on holiday. After doing a full body scrub with my trusty Soap & Glory Smoothie Scrub I'll also apply a body oil all over; this product duo helps me feel firmer and keeps my skin super smooth.

I find hair removal my least favourite thing. I hate how time consuming it is and how quickly the hair grows back. The new Argan oil range from Nair makes the process feel slightly more pampering a less of a chore. My favourite from the new collection is the Argan Oil Shower Power Cream (reviewed here).

Before baring my bod on holiday I like to apply a little fake tan. During the winter my skin sees no sunlight and practically becomes transparent. Having a natural looking faux glow makes me feel more confident and less nervous about stripping off. My two favourite brands are Xen Tan and Cocoa Brown.

A holiday without some pre-pamper prepping on your fingers and toes is unheard of for me! I love picking out nail varnish colours that best compliment a tan and this time I'll be wearing white on my hands and a glittery, sea blue on my toes.

Keep an eye out for a Post Holiday Prep coming your way soon! Are you off anywhere nice this summer?

New Nair Liquid Gold Argan Oil Range

nair argan oil review
I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to hair removal. I stick to using a razor as waxing is a definite no-no. I like how fuss-free using a razor is but the hair grows back so quickly! However, bikini season is among us I've found a solution.

The Nair Argan Oil collection features 5 innovative products, giving you the freedom to choose a product which best suits you. Each product is infused with nourishing Argan Oil and Orange Blossom extract, offering something more than just hair removal. I've been testing out two products from the new range, keep reading for find out how I got on!

Nair Argan Oil Salon Divine Body Wax With 'Bye Bye Pain' Formula £11.99*
Waxing is usually a big no-no from me but I thought I'd brave testing this out in the name of blogging research. I was intrigued by the 'Bye Bye Pain' formula which promises to take the pain out of hair removal. The solid wax comes in a microwavable tub which just takes a couple of minutes to heat up. Using the wooden spatula provided I glided a thin layer onto my legs, allowed a few seconds for it to harden and then pulled off. To my surprise, it was nowhere near as painful as traditional waxing strips however it didn't remove all my hairs. It also took a bit of practise to apply the correct amount of wax and things got a little messy. I really like that it's stripe-less and it had a nice salon-like scent but I'm unsure if it was right for me.

Nair Argan Oil Shower Power Cream £6.69*
I've tried hair removal creams in the past and have always been put off by the awful, chemical scent. This product contains a trio of skin-loving ingredients such as Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil and Cocoa Butter giving it an incredibly delicious fragrance. You simply apply a thick layer and wait a couple of minutes before jumping in the shower. Once in the shower the cream doesn't come off by its self, instead you have to remove it with the spatula provided. It did a great job of leaving my legs silky soft and was really easy to use. This is super gentle on skin so great for those prone to sensitivity. I was pleasantly surprised by this and will definitely be picking up next time I'm after hair removal cream.

Dove #100colours Challenge

I'm guilty of always wearing dark colours. My wardrobe is probably 85% black; I normally opt for darker shades because I find them easy to wear and often don't feel adventurous enough to wear bright clothes. A recent poll commissioned by Dove suggested that I'm not alone. The results revealed that two thirds of British women would choose to wear a 'little black dress' for an event due to its reputation as a timeless classic, rather than embracing colour. As well as this, body confidence is cited as the key factor steering women away from wearing colourful clothes, yet almost two thirds of UK women say that wearing a colourful dress makes them feel happier and more confident compared to when they wear a LBD. Over the next few weeks I'll be embracing a brighter wardrobe and exploring the possibilities that come with ditching the LBD. I'll be using the Dove Invisible Dry deodorant to brilliantly prep my underarms and hopefully help boost my confidence. Impressively, Dove Invisible Dry is proven to leave no white marks on 100 colours so I'll be putting it to the test over the next few weeks!

What To Buy This Weekend

Hooray for the weekend! I can't wait to put my feet up and do nothing. If you're heading to the shops there have been a lot of exciting beauty launches lately. Here are some of the new products I have been adoring lately for a bit of shopping inspiration.

COLLECTION Lasting Colour Lipsticks £2.99
Just launched from COLLECTION are 21 lust-worthy lipsticks. They come in a range of matte and cream formulas both of which are super long lasting. I'm seriously impressed with these and have been reaching for 'China Rose' on a daily basis. Definitely worth a look next time you pass a COLLECTION stand.
Ella Henderson for Batiste £3.29
Dry shampoo is my best friend so I always welcome a new variant. The latest release from Batiste has a beautiful creamy coconut and vanilla scent. I think this would be perfect for the warmer weather.
Ted Baker Pink Body Spray £7.00
If you're a sucker for pretty packaging you'll want to check out the new Ted Baker Bath & Body range. It's a pastel lovers dream with a selection of baby pink and mint products to choose from. A favourite of mine is this body spray which I like to keep in my handbag.
Nair Argan Oil Power Shower Cream £6.99
Gone are the days of funky smelling hair removal creams. The new Argan Oil range from Nair smells divine and makes hair removal a little bit more enjoyable. It contains cocoa butter and is suitable for dry and sensitive skin. Also, it's currently on offer at Boots - yay!

Will you be adding any of these to go shopping list?

How to Look Like You've Been On Holiday

It seems like everyone on my Facebook feed is sunning themselves up on some beautiful, Instagram-able retreat. Minus me of course. Instead of sitting at home feeling sorry for myself I decided to rummage through my beauty bits. I give you the products that will fool people into thinking you've spent two weeks away gallivanting on a glorious holiday. After all, who doesn't want to look bronzed, relaxed and rested? It'll be our little secret..

I haven't touched the fake tan for months and that's so unlike me (boyf influence?). To make people question whether you've been away, apply a natural looking faux tan. My all time favourite is the Cocoa Brown 1 hour tan. You can adjust this to go as dark as you want; whether you're after a weekend in St.Tropez golden glow or a two week holiday in Antigua hue. If you're not a fake tan fan opt for a instant mist which is a fool-proof way of adding some colour. I like the new Body Shop Honey Bronze Leg Mist. Simply spray on and rub in for a natural, matte, bronze-y glow. Perfect for fellow pale ladies.
When I return from being on holiday my skin had a subtle glow to it. All that water intake and Vitamin D does wonders for my skin. To get that glow at home use a brightening moisturiser such as the Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser. This wonderful product instantly gives skin a refresh and makes it appear clearer.
Nothing says 'I've been on a beach all week' like summery, bronzed makeup. For a healthy glow apply bronzer all over your face and blend onto your neck. Another Body Shop product I'm loving is the Honey Bronze Bronzer in 02. It's light enough for my fair skin and blends seamlessly. Add a highlighter to the areas where sun would naturally hit for an added sun-kissed glow.
A bright lip always perks me up and makes me feel more confident. It also screams 'hey I just came back from my holiday and I look great so I'm gonna wear a bright lip'. To achieve that holiday vibe I love the The Revlon Moisture Stains. Not only are they named after different destinations, the shade range is AMAZING. 'Miami Fever' is an outrageously bright orange-y red. Once applied it looks quite coral-y and compliments your tanned skin perfectly. These are like a non-sticky lipgloss which leave a stain once dried.

So where are you 'going' this weekend? I fancy Rome..

Saving Up Samples For Holidays

With summer on the way hopefully you'll to have a holiday coming up. I love saving up miniature toiletries so I have a stash ready for my travel bag. Plus, who can resist a mini version of their favourite product?

- Not everyone loves beauty boxes but the sample sized products they contain are perfect for taking away with you. I'll be bringing along a couple of products from my April Birchbox
-At this time of year magazines always offer free beauty products. You often find great highend brands like Benefit, Percy & Reed, Clinique etc...
- Sample sachets are super handy for saving up space. You can find these in magazines or sometimes find free beauty samples online like this free Aveeno Lotion here
- Perfume bottles are bulky and not ideal for taking away with you. I love going to department stores and picking up those mini fragrance samples. I have a box full of them specifically for travelling!
- Most drugstores will have a holiday section where you can find your favourite products in miniature form. I normally pick up a small toothpaste and suncream.

Are you off on holiday this year? Do you save up samples too?

Weekend Catch-Up #6

Hey you. What a week it has been! My summer holiday has been booked so I've been on a healthy rampage and started doing yoga daily to help tone my body. I get so excited about packing my travel beauty bag and buying my favourite products in miniature form (post coming up next week). I'm only taking hand luggage so I have to creatively make sure all my liquids are under 100ml! We're half way through June now and I hope you're enjoying seeing a new post on here everyday. If you have a post requests just let me know.

Summer beauty
I think I prefer summer to winter. As soon as the temperature rises (even just a little) we swap our jeans for shorts and dresses and everyone seems so much happier. I've fully embraced summer on MMU and you can keep updated with all the summer themed posts here.
Lip Love
My most reached for lipstick this week has been the COLLECTION Lasting colour Lipstick in China Rose. It's from their new range of 21 lipsticks which I completely adore. The formula is super nourishing, glides on beautifully and has great pigmentation. 'China Rose' a muted pinky-brown, a wearable, everyday shade with a nod to the 90's trend.
What's Really On My Bedside Table
I often read these kind of posts and think do you really have all that stuff on your bedside table? My routine before I hit the hay it pretty simple. All I need after brushing my teeth is a moisturising lip balm (because my lip are forever dry) and a non-greasy hand cream.
New In
I'm really loving nude, pinky lips at the moment so I picked up these shades from Bourjois Aqua Laque range. Ok, I know they look almost identical but I promise you they are slightly different hues of pink. I have 01 Appechissant, 02 Rose On The Rocks and 08 Babe Idole.

I hope you've had a fab week!

Batiste ELLA HENDERSON

batiste ella henderson review

Batiste and I have been together for 5 years now. Dry shampoo is an essential, life-saving product for me and I'm thrilled to announce Batiste are launching a new variant this month. The latest launch is in collaboration with singer Ella Henderson. I definitely have hair envy; her locks are so voluminous!

"Batiste is my number 1 hit; I'm either in the studio or on stage, in a car or on a plane - often with little time to get ready. I can always count on Batiste to refresh and restyle my hair in one go; I know I'll always be ready for whenever the day takes me." Ella Henderson

The new dry shampoo is my summer must-have. It has an aromatic blend of warming summer scents mixed with fruity tones. Top notes of vanilla, blended with coconut and a musky base makes this ideal for long summer days.

I use this in between washes to give my hair an instant refresh or I'll use it as a styling product to give added volume. Ella recommends spraying it on mid-lengths and then brushing out for a quick texture boost. Batiste is like a shot of confidence in a can; I feel ready for everything and anything when I have it to hand. It's my hero product and I couldn't live without it, this new version will see me through the warmer months in style!

Batiste Ella Henderson* rrp £3.29 (200ml) available now.

What's In My Summer Makeup Bag

As summer rolls around I'll switch up my makeup look. I'll opt for a light base, cream blush and a laid back lip...

I'm still going sans foundation and just using a concealer to hid any blemishes. It's a old favourite and I won't bore you by talking about it but I've been reaching for the COLLECTION Lasting Perfection Concealer lately. Because the sun has decide to make an appearance (yay!) I'm upping my SPF game and using a higher factor. I really like the KIKO City Filter Primer SPF 50. You can read my review of it and some other facial SPFs here .
I've been keeping lids bare because I don't like to wear eyeshadow when the weather is hot and humid. On my lashes I've been using my much loved mascara - Bourjois 1 Seconde Volume. Despite not liking the product name I love everything else about it. I'll be repurchasing this once it has dried out.
My lips and cheeks will be pink and peachy this summer. I've been talking about these blushers a lot lately so it's a no brainer that the COLLECTION Speedy Sticks are going to be a staple in my summer makeup bag. The creamy formula is super blendable and surprisingly long lasting. I love a peachy, glossy lip when the sun is out so I'll be sporting the Bourjois Colour Boost Crayon in On The Beach; how aptly named.
A newbie in my collection is The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzer in 02. I like that it's super light so great for fair-skinned girls, and it blends seamlessly so it's impossible to mess up. Perfect.

Have you tired any of these?

MAC Blush Ripe Peach Drugstore Dupe

It's been a while since I've talked about a makeup dupe so I'm pleased to write this. I like MAC products but I will very rarely ever purchase them. I think they are too expensive for what they offer and I've seen a lot MAC drugstore dupes around. The most recent one being this Essence Blush Up Powder Blush in Heat Wave

The ombre blush has a similar resemblance to the MAC Blush Ombre in Ripe Peach. Both have a pink to orange gradient You can customize them to give you a more natural pink look or use the orange for a peachy colour. I haven't used the MAC version so I can't compare them completely but the Essence blush has good longevity and pigmentation for a drugstore brand.

I know the MAC blusher has been quite difficult to get hold of so it may be worth tracking down the dupe version for the time being.

New Honey Bronze Range From The Body Shop

the body shop honey bronze tinted leg mist review
I love it when you come back of your summer holiday and you have that head-to-toe sunkissed glow. Your hair is a little lighter, your skin is radiant and you feel blissfully relaxed. I can't promise you that feeling all summer long but I can help prolong that 'just stepped of the beach' look with the new products from The Body Shop Honey Bronze range.

The collection features three new snazzy products: a Tinted Leg Mist, Face Gel and Highlighting Domes. I've been testing these out lately in delicious anticipation of what summer will bring.

Highlighting Domes* £8
These cute little domes come in three shades - They have a super-sheer, easy to blend texture. You can apply them directly to your face or I prefer to use a brush. The creamy, lightweight textures makes them ideal for summer. They are very shimmery and sheer, I personally think a little expensive for what it does. A great cheaper alternative would be the COLLECTION Speedy Sticks
Honey Bronze Face Gel* £13
Despite it looking very scary and dark in the tube this delivers a natural-looking glow. I feel like it was made for fellow pale people like me as it's extremely subtle and utterly natural. The refreshing gel texture isn't orange and never goes streaky. I love how easy it is to use and that it has a matte finish.
Honey Bronze Tinted Leg Mist* £15
You know when summer arrives and you have to get your legs out but you haven't shaved them in 4 weeks and they are looking a little ghostly? Well this is your best friend. It's a leg mist that gives you an instant, even bronzed glow. Like the Face Gel it has a matte finish and contains no oil or shimmer. It's very natural looking but can be built up for a darker colour. This is my new summer staple!

The Body Shop Honey Bronze range is available to buy online and instore.

The 'I Forgot To Set My Alarm' Makeup

how to look less tired
You wake up late. There's no time to eat breakfast. You have to choose between brushing your hair and brushing your teeth. I hate rushing so this is my worst nightmare. If I forget to set my alarm I want to be able to cleverly disguise my fatigue with a little help from some trusted makeup items. The secret to this look - a bright lip. Keep reading to find out what other pick-me-up products I reach for..

It's all about that base. Tired skin can look dull and grey. After using a hydrating moisturiser apply The Body Shop Instant Glow Enhancer all over your face. This orange-tinted cream gives skin a subtle glow and makes it appear naturally radiant. To further brighten your complexion take a liquid highlighter and apply to the cheekbones. I love the SEVENTEEN Skin WOW Primer which is a shimmery white cream that is perfect at giving you that lit-from-within glow. The other base product you need to combat tiredness is the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer. Designed to reawaken and illuminate the undereye area for an instant anti-fatigue effect. It has medium coverage and is very light-weight so great for the delicate eye area. On days when I am looking particularly tired I'll need to build this up for optimum coverage.

When lacking sleep your eye can appear red so my life-saving product to conceal this is a nude coloured eye liner. I really like how soft and affordable the Rimmel Waterproof Kohl Liner is. To energise and revitalise those peepers a coating of your favourite volumising mascara is sure to do the trick. Using an eyelash curler will also help you achieve that wide-eyed look. To finish of the eyes I'll pop a light, shimmery shadow on the inner corners of my eyes to really brighten up the area.My go-to for years has been the Bourjois Little Round Pot Eyeshadow in Rose Beige.

Adding a hint of colour to the cheeks is a great way to hid a dull complexion. My latest blusher love has been the COLLECTION Speedy Sticks. They are a drugstore dupe for the Clinique Chubby Stick and I adore them. If all else fails, swipe on a brightly coloured lipstick to draw attention away from your tired eyes. Works every time.

How do you recover from oversleeping?
